Sam Ravenda

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

LANGUAGE(S): English

We constantly search outside of ourselves to look for more joy and meaning, but the real magic lies within, therapy is learning how to uncover that.”

BIO

Sam holds two undergraduate degrees from York University, in Anthropology and Social work, and completed her Master’s of Social work at the University of Toronto. She is a certified yoga teacher with a specialty Yin yoga certification. Sam’s natural curiosity for human nature, allows her to meet clients non-judgmentally and with empathy.

Sam uses a holistic, compassionate, trauma-informed approach, meeting clients where they are, to help them uncover their individual needs and goals. It is about building trust and creating a safe space to support people in recognising and developing their own strengths and abilities. Therapy assists in connecting with the body and mind’s wisdom to foster profound healing and growth. Sam works with mindfulness philosophy to help clients discover more balance and find more skillful ways to cope with life.

As a queer woman, Sam understands navigating issues of identity and belonging, and will create a safe space for all expressions of gender and sexuality. She believes that the key to a happy and balanced life is uncovering what brings you joy and pursuing that, without the pressure of self-doubt or exterior expectations. Learning who we are starts with purposely paying attention and accepting everything we discover as we embark on our healing journey. Working with Sam is a collaborative relationship that will help you build trust in yourself to map out your own path forward.
