About me

Bio

Kesavi is a registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and psychotherapist dedicated to fostering a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment. She ensures that individuals feel heard by validating their emotions, identifying and highlighting their strengths, and working together towards meaningful change and growth. With over 25 years of clinical experience in the critical care departments of Scarborough Hospital, Kesavi has worked with diverse populations and developed a deep understanding of the complex emotional needs that arise when individuals face physical and mental health challenges, including illnesses, abuse, violence, and life-altering situations. Kesavi has extensive professional experience supporting people in reclaiming their wellness by addressing fears and embracing difficult emotions such as anxiety, unhelpful thinking patterns, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, loss, and depression. She works with students, adults, seniors, and caregivers, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Additionally, Kesavi incorporates South Asian culturally relevant techniques in Hindi, Telugu, and English to address the needs and concerns of her clients, balancing body, mind, emotion, and energy for overall physical and psychological health. As an avid gardener and yoga practitioner and teacher, she brings elements of nature into her practice to help clients achieve mental balance and well-being.
